    Just trying to date this razor with the jimps.....and only has Sheffield on the tang....not Sheffield England

    Way before that one. It seems Greaves was the 1st big maker to do them. I would say early 1800's?

    Ritchie and Stewart's Standard Guide to Razors puts jimps or fluting starting to show up in the 1820 -1830 decade.
