Thanked: 0Has anyone ever used a KAMISORI razor?
I am going to be purchasing my first razor and have been doing some research and came across Kamisori razors and am interested if anyone has any thoughts on them.

Some of the guys were given kamisori's a few months ago to test and as I recall the reviews were less than stellar. Supposedly their razors are now made by Dovo but personally I would just buy a Dovo that way you know what you are getting. Even better than that get a TI.

Or even better get a vintage shave ready from one of the guys here on the BST forum. Cheaper than new and will hold its value.
Of course I might be a tad biased...

Thanked: 335Dangerous,
Yah, but on their off time I understand the Kamisoris make stellar letter openers. Double duty on the same dollar.

Thanked: 335OK, triple duty! This could be better than 4 wheel drive on a pickup: butter knife, letter opener, and razor. Could life get much better?

Thanked: 13249Seems these razors are a much maligned product out and about, but I have one of the Paladin's and actually like the way it shaves... I have never tried the Blue Blade so I couldn't weigh in on an opinion there.
Honest is honest and the Paladin has never given me any trouble at all, hones up nice, takes to the strop just fine. One thing I would say is that is is pretty finicky about pressure on the blade when stropping. But then again so are Dovo's and DD's...
I use the Kamisori as my Gym Razor so it actually gets quite a bit of use, I figured that it is easy to replace if I get stupid and forget it or it gets "lost" at the gym.
One thing though, this is not a beginner's razor it needs proper care and feeding, and it seems to like a fine pasted strop at least once a month to keep it happy... they tend to need a little extra care and a light hand. Now we seem to have no problem doing this for our $200-$400 razors even that special vintage one we got off E-bay for $25 or the DD we bought for $100, but heaven forbid we have to actually take care of the $59.99 Kamisori that we tried, just another opinion on this thread
