This is just a guess, but it looks to me like it was made for hair cutting by a barber and possibly missing a clip on blade attachment. Interesting to see if someone knows for sure what it is. Neat find.

seems i've seen something like that before, i think they have actually made a straight razor into a hair thinning blade. Yep, here it is!

I don't see how it could cut hair by itself. It cannot possibly be sharp at the top of the slots and if it was sharp at the 'edge', it would seem to be inefficient.
I have seen some pics of Burrell Top flights with very small slots. Either way, if the edge does the cutting, it could be a hazard if in contact with skin?

Might it just be a comb?

As said it's a thinning blade, barbers still use them for blending etc. My wife's a hairdresser and uses the scissor version.

The scissor version has a sharp blade which does the cutting. The other blade of them is simply a comb, I think?
What does the actual cutting with these? I have seen thinning done with a comb in one hand and scissors in the other..

That is why I thought perhaps it is missing a clip on blade. Otherwise it is just a fancy comb used with clippers or scissors to do the cutting.
