    Default Age of my Dovo

    Hello everybody!

My newest razor (no. 6 in the collection) is a Dovo, that much I know. Can anyone help me to narrow down the age? Dovo used the embossing until 1991, but as far as the years before that, I am stumped.

Thanks for any help in advance,

    Greetings

    Sven

    Welcome!

That model is still being sold by more than a few vendors https://thesuperiorshave.com/product...traight-razor/ so might not be too old just not looked after.

Looks like the modern version is laser etched, vice stamped, which should help the dating.

Along with the razor being stamped not laser etched, it is also pinned in the traditional way with both sides being peened. The modern ones use nail head pins and are pinned on one side only.

This site has some info on Dovo STRAZORS.com - all about classic razors - DOVO, Fritz Bracht, Solingen, Germany. .

Check the Dovo trade mark stamp on the tang as it may give a clue as to when it was made.

Good eye Bob. I was wondering if it has been rescaled. Just looked at the link. Guess not.
