Default Everybody Knows About the Clauss Shear Company of ... Toronto?

Picked this one up at auction recently. Honestly, I didn't really notice the stamp until I got it in hand, just saw that it was Clauss and figured it was the standard Fremont mark.

So I was surprised when I gave it a closer look.

I did a handful of google searches but didn't turn up anything. So I'm wondering: has anyone heard anything about a (I'm guessing short-lived) Clauss factory in Canada? It's kind of a head scratcher.

Clauss had a branch office in Toronto, Ontario. They had 20 traveling salesmen in the United States, 2 in Canada and 7 in Europe. They also had branch offices in New York City, Kansas City, Mo. and London, Eng.

Not just at the moment. If I have time, I'll snap a couple tomorrow morning.

Thanks for that info. I was operating under the assumption that no matter where Clauss razors were sold, they'd have the Fremont stamp. Guess I know better now. Would be really neat to see one with a London stamp, if such a thing exits.

Now I gotta go look at my Clauss razors. Nice find. From what I can see it looks clean. How about a full pic?

Ha! You.. I'm the one living in Ohio, would love to have one of each stamp. If they all truly exist, I wonder how many were make for each state / province.

Not a great picture, but here's the full razor. Had trouble finding good lighting, and I was too lazy to set up my photo tent. But it's got a sweet carved bone handle. I've been on the hunt for one of these for several years.

Come to think, Clauss razors have gotten scarce lately. I have a couple nice ones.
    Time to touch those up..
