The blade is in a terrible state. There's a pit ahead. Maybe it makes it look like a microtome.

An old microtome would have one side concave and the other side flat.
A more modern microtome would have both sides flat.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin
