I too cut myself a month ago. Not nearly as bad as you did! But I cut myself. The wife asked me how my shave was as she likes to ask now and then. I told her I cut myself. She wanted to know if we needed to go to the hospital as she knows my razors are extremely sharp. It wasn't that bad. Bleeding stopped after a couple of minutes. I'm thinking that one will leave a mark.

Thanked: 556I think we sometimes forget exactly how sharp we can get our razors.
I most often cut myself when I’m not paying close enough attention to what I’m doing.
Yesterday I was using tissue to clean out the pivot end of the razor after shaving and just touched the open blade to my index finger. Didn’t feel much and didn’t think I had actually cut myself until I noticed blood in the sink.
Nice thing about cutting yourself with a sharp razor is that it stops bleeding reasonably quickly and doesn’t leave much of a scar - usually.David

It happens to the best of us.
You are using an incredibly sharp instrument on your face and neck and do it so frequently you don't even think about it and then one day like all workman around dangerous tools and items zowee it just happens. Usually it's so fast you don't even realize it.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 110Bouschie I was in front of the mirror holding pressure onto these couple cuts and reminiscing about how i received these scars.. Most of my good ones are in the chin.. Taken some divots off the chin for sure..Story about cutting your ear brought me to my very first ST cut. Had been DE-ing for a while so soap and brush was no problem..I did half my face and with my newly acquired Dovo Best raised up, shaking like crazy and tried slowly to get to my sideburns area.. After this I am not even sure what I did or how for that matter but all of a sudden I feel a little pinch or bite right on the tragus of the ear.. Pulled back and because it's mostly skin over like a cartilidge a little bit
Of blood started and then it just started flowing! Upon reviewing while changing tissue I had damn near cut base to top of flap and quite deep.
I still dont know the progression it took the razor to cut that but it did not stop
for a number of hours. I seriously had doubts about ever being able to use a straight razor after that.

Thanked: 110Speaking about that Dovo Best I think the cut I received on the ear from that might have been the best cut I ever got from that razor That blade did not play nice and was glad to ship it away.

Thanked: 110Yeah Jerry there sure are.. I remember in High School taking Anatomy.. Wait I'm going to retract, no I do not remember in HS taking it but I know I did.. Been many years passed since than.. And a few years later I had to take College level A&P.. Much different But when we got to Ears and the Eyes I was just so blown away on what it takes for your ear to work.. Absolute Marvel to this day. So intricate with these tubes and canals. Nerves, little hair fibers etc, etc..How the ear processes everything to send signals to the brain.. Its like what!! Its like WTF!! And the eyes are the same for me.. Just look at anything and stop for s second and ask yourself.. How does this happen and what is the eye doing to where its producing a movie at all times!!! The complexity of the human body and how it works the way it does is so effing fascinating to me and I'll never stop being amazed by the human body..

Anyone who claims to shave with a straight and never cut themselves is a liar, except for me of course
