Thanked: 110Where did he go?
Apologize right from the start as I know this is not the preferred thread for this but just want the most eyes on post and if answered I'll ask a mod if they will shut it down..
So it just came to me that I have not heard or seen his screen name on the forum in quite some time..
Anyone know where our South American brother Gabe.. aka Gabriel78. I hope all is well with him...
Thanks fella's, Scott W

Thanked: 110Hey Tom.. Hope all is well and you are staying safe n healthy.. So it was about 5 weeks since last post? Seems as though it has been a lot longer since I have seen or heard him comment here... And yes he seems to be a guy I would become fast friends with.. I've bought one of his Roo strops and a Fili 13 novo that was very good condition for I believe $150 maybe a year to year and half ago..After watching what some people are charging for these it was instant respect for me.. If you didnt PM yet I'll send a shout out to him early afternoon..
Take care of yourself Tom and if.i hear from him i will fill you in.. Scott W

Gabe’s being overworked by his employer and is looking for new work as a result. He barely has family time let alone hobby time.

I know how he feels. I had an employer like that once,
was like being a slave.Mike

His employer just discovered Gabe’s unhappiness with his 14-hour work days. It’s good he let his boss knows he’s looking for something else. The only people working 14-hour weeks ought to be executives or workers fairly compensated for their OT work.

Hello my good brothers an friends!
i'm still alive and healthy, keeping quarantine with wife and kid per out Ministry of Health recommendation. First i want to thank Tom, Mark, Scott, Alex, Srdjan, and all the other good friends that had reached out asking how things are going.
To make it short, since last October my company let go some people and dumped some extra burden on my plate, but a couple months ago things got even worse when they offered early retirement to a lot of people in the company.. so we lost 1/3 of the folks in our team.. at the ed.. i'm working about 14 hrs a day (and yes, you guessed, not being paid over time). So i have been trying to keep things floating (Family and work)... i get in the forum every now and them and read a bit, but the very few time i have left after working and doing house things I try to play with my 3 year old. sometimes when i finish working he's already asleep.
already looking for other job, but that is rather difficult ATM... things are bad in Costa Rica cause of the Covid-19, the people that can work from home are doing it... but disease continues to spread and the Ministry has requested quarantine for everyone who can (me and wife working from home), all school closed, Govclosed beaches, bars, and many other places.... and cause of the quarantines, tons and tons of people loosing Jobs and the Government is going to take 10% of our salaries (of the ones that still have jobs) to help sustain the people that is being laid off. That's a hit for our economy in the family .. so perhaps i'll be selling some of my Japanese treasures (strops, jnats) and perhaps even some of my jewels razors... not sure if i will have the time to make roo strops yet for a while, but if anyone interested let me know
well, enough whining, i'm happy cause me and my family is healthy, and i see that my brothers here in the forum are also healthy too.. so, what else is needed?
i'm glad that brotherhood is alive here in the forum an I will keep praying for all of you guys and your families to stay healthy and well
anywhow, thanks guys for keeping this alive! i will try to be more active
PS: by the way, Costa Rica is in Central America, not South America heheheh :Phoning my mind...
