Looks good. I'd almost bet that someone brought that with them from Sweden when they immigrated all the markings being in Swedish.

I found it here in Minnesota, so I do not doubt it at all.

I was going to ask about where you found it. Yea, it would be a natural to be found in Minnesota. My God Father was from a Swedish immigrant family in Minnesota.

F.W. Söderéns are very nice razors, not all that common (not rare by any means though) and always well made. I have one exactly like that waiting for final polishing and scales. I still cannot tell for sure if it was hollow ground or rattler ground (i.e. parallel to the edge), even though I am inclined to believe it was hollow ground yet looks like a common Swedish rattler grind. It is that well done.

    Nice find.

I think you may be correct with it being a rattler grind. The shoulderless grind I believe creates the illusion that it may be hollow.

I found this particular specimen by Söderén a bit confusing, as the rattler grind is not nearly as pronounced as on eg. Klas Törnblom rattlers (also from Eskilstuna).

I have another rattler grind Söderén, a bit smaller and more delicate looking, which I'll have to check for grind. I'll see if I can snap a few pictures tomorrow or Tuesday to illustrate my point.

I got this a month or so ago and it is a great razor. Scales are different...?

These are the same markings, but mine is much less legible.

Yes perhaps I may have it in reverse. The grind may be hollow but appear to represent rattler. Interesting.
