Thread: An Interesting Development, CVH

Gents,

I have a mint or new CVH MK 32 in thick scales with collar pins. I also have a worn MK 32 in ivory. I don’t trust myself pinning Ivory yet, so I sent the razors to Alfredo for a simple scale swap.

The first interesting thing is that though both are MK 32, the heel of the pictured razor would poke out the bottom of the ivory scales even though the wedge was thin. The second interesting thing is that the thick scales with collar pins are ... ivory. I had just assumed that this was a razor with plastic scales, and that's really what it looks like, the schreger lines if present didn’t jump out, and I’m used to looking for them. But Alfredo did the hot pin test, and they are indeed ivory, and he should know.

Has anyone else seen a thick-scaled ivory razor with collar pins? I seem to recall that TI make ivory-scaled razors thick and with collars, I saw one at Planete Rasoir once, and it had a certificate of ‘legality’ for the scales.
