Thanked: 3215Look at that Potomac for off gassing. Dull scales like that are signs of Cell Rot, probably rusted any near it. I would separate that one for sure.
Colored, Translucent, Faux Ivory and Cracked Ice scales are notorious for Cell Rot. Once saw a single razor in a glass case eat everything metal in an Antique Store case in 3 months.
I advised the shop owners, but no one did anything about it, 3 months later the case was trashed.

Thanked: 3215Your talking the Wade Butcher French grind, not the Tennis right?
Yea, I saw that one too, so far the most interesting of the bunch.
The Clauss and Bismark may be too far gone.

Its what is called, a faux frameback. That's one you'll want to keep. I'll tell ya what, I'll do my magic on it for ya, if you'll send John the USMC, Clauss, Fremont, Oh.
Even better, send both, and I'll clean up John's, too. And I'll send it to him, and yours to you. No charge, your only expense, is getting them shipped to me.
Can't beat that..! Your call, I mean. Just send a PMMike

Most of that type of attaching hardware can be disassembled, and yeah the smooth leather surface with "Scotch Shell" stamped on it was probably originally the top surface of the assembled strop. Probably easy enough to make it so, again. I have seen that exact strop before, I am sure.
