Thanked: 3Help identifying this custom razor
Hi,
I got this on the interweb and it has no markings whatsoever. Some interesting things to note (not obvious from the pictures):
1. The blade is 1" wide
2. Very heavy - I'd say 10-12oz at least
3. The scales are lined on the inside with brass plates. Yes, brass plates.
4. The snap (button) on the leather pouch says "Seal of the State of Oklahoma".
5. Scales are super thick and heavy.
Overall, my thoughts are that this is not a blade for those with average sized hands.
Seems like a custom forged blade. Any thoughts on who the smithy is (was)?
Thanks!

Thanked: 2209Paki made POS
Check with Smoky Mountain Knife Works and see if it is sold there. If so, then toss it.
There is nothing good about this razor.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

What Randy said. Additionally, it probably is not a razor at all, it’s a knife shaped like a razor.

A real Damascus razor by a real razor maker starts at about $700, and those are the factory razors like TI and Boker. Bespoke Damascus razors will be higher.
It’s also most likely not Damascus or even pattern welded steel, that pattern is just an acid etch. Metal polish will probably take it right off.My doorstop is a Nakayama
