    Most of us are on the same wave length. If you're a bigger guy a 6/8 might be a little more comfortable to learn with, but a 5/8 would by no means be bad. There's always room for another blade in your future.

    I have big hands as well. I started with a 4/8 till I got to a 5/8 and a 6/8. I'll not go below a 5/8 unless it's given to me now. I find the honing and shaving far easier, as in I don't tend to drag my fingers on my face while shaving with the bigger blade.

    I have a few oldies waiting on scales and better hone jobs to try really heavy metal I may end up shipping one of them to lynn for a new edge or something, it's being a bugger...
