This weeks flee market find
I gave more than usual for this weeks stuff. Had to raise it up to $10.00 for this one.
The straight don't belong to this plastic box I think the vendor just put it in there to make it look like a set.
Joseph Rodgers & Son Straight needs a good cleaning before I will see how bad it really is.
Vintage strop. I guess its time to learn how to restore a strop.

Thanked: 556Good deal!
The razor looks like it has mostly surface rust and blemishes. Your pics don’t show much damage near the edge. It’ll probably wind up having some patina when you’re done, but that’s character.
Can’t tell from the photos, but the strop looks recoverable. I don’t understand the holes in the handle portion. but the rest of the leather doesn’t look in bad shape.
The linen looks like it could use a through cleaning. There is a lot of info in the strop thread about how to get that done.
For $10, you found some treasure.David

I did a quick cleaning with WD40 and a DE blade then some 00 steel wool. No pitting on the edge I think I could sand till the cows come home and the patina will still be there.
I wiped the leather strop with some ISO and it cleaned up well. then rubbed in a drop or two Of mineral oil. It is flat but has a couple of what seam to be dents but could also be old nicks. As for the holes I could not tell you what thy are from thy do no go all the way through but kind of remind me are dart holes.
