Thanked: 2Geer. Shwarz & Co?
Hello,
I have an old German straight with brand partially wore down.
As far as I can read it says " Geer. Schwarz & Co Haan Solingen"
Looked for it but couldn't find any information about the maker. Although lost some of its size, İt has a very nice, though homogenous steel that takes a nice edge easily and not that crisp at all.
Any help about the maker is appreciated.
thanks.

I have been fortunate, with Sheffield cutlees at least, to find hard to find makers in a trade name directory. Maybe you could find the same for German cutlers.

Thanked: 3227There is something similar for German makers here https://www.archivingindustry.com/cu...azormakers.htm . I did not find it listed but there are lots of holes in the records that may never be filled. It is what happens when you are bombed in WWII.
