Certain Brands get a great rep usually it is based on "Consistency" The Filarmonica brand besides a few at the very end of their run are VERY consistent

    The Grinds are excellent
    The Temper is great
The Feel and Balance are spot on

This means that unless there is some type of damage, every one of them that you Hone, Strop, and Shave, is going to perform as expected ...
That Consistency is what makes a certain Brand/Model stand out to many of us

    Hope that makes sense

I have had Fili's and Dorkos. While they shaved great I personally did not think they were any better than other razors of their time. I sold them. I still prefer my vintage English steel (Wade & Butcher, G. Wostsnholm, Wm. Greaves).

I've had quite a few. All great shavers. The only ones that I know that have got some bad press are the later sello oro
    models.

To me only the old ones live up the hype. Later models are not that special for me.

The width of the blade looks shorter than usual. I suspect it had a chip and the seller honed it out. This is quite common with Filarmonicas on eBay .
