So that means he can keep all the razors once honed and sorted and pass his now unnecessary stones to those of us who covet them?

Well, I just classify them on how they shave. Exceptional, very good and average. I don't collect them to just collect them. I collect them to provide a useful tool to shave my face. But I understand those who do collect them just to collect them. It's easy to get lost in the madness.....

I like a data base idea. If you entered 6 each day with your morning coffee it would take about 6 months to do.

I am changing my view of hones in the outhouse at least here. This morning it was -8'F here so I guess water stones would be out of the question!

Why not send them to me? I'll sort them and exhibit them in the first Dutch straight razor museum.
Whenever you want to drool over them you can come and visit them.

OK, I have reached a milestone in this oiling of my razors saga.

I have now finished oiling & greasing all of the razors that I had graded as VG ( Very Good). I separated out those that need new scales or more than just simple buffing. This does not include any of the NOS, Excellent condition, Sheffields, stub tails ,or Geezers display collection.

This is a pic of the VG condition "Keepers" straight razors .... 128 of them!

Have a look at flickr, they also have a private setting I believe that will only allow you to see your photos, if that's important to you.

    In your dreams !

I am saving all the hones so I can make a headstone from them or maybe a privacy fence around my outhouse.
