Default Huge George Wolstenholm 10/8 +

    Dear Enthusiasts,
For your viewing and comments, please look over this huge Geo Wolsterholm Rockingham Works razor it is 10/8 a little larger actually. It has never been honed much, but I may clean it up and give it a try.I dont think a full restoration is the way to go As I like it as is.What are your recommendations.I have another 10/8 wedge shave ready and it shaves pretty good. This is a full wedge

    Kindest Regards Gary

Clean the blade with some polish and 0000 steel wool.
    Soak the scales in oil.
Lightly sand both with a very high grit paper before hand if necessary.
    Hone and shave.
That's a beautiful razor and doesn't need much.
    Enjoy!!

It is 8:30 am, -11F outside, sipping my first cup of coffee and what do I behold? Some fabulous razor porn!
Gary, that is one beautiful straight razor. I agree that it should not be "fully restored", just remove the dirt, soak the scales to rehydrate them, then hone it and enjoy the shave.

You said you liked big blades. I guess sometimes you can get what you want. Congratulations.

That brute must weigh a lot. You might have to work out a bit before the first shave ; )

Yeah, even if you don't use any abrasive/polish/etc, conditioning the scales with neetsfoot oil will help preserve them.

    Texas, 10/8 razor, makes sense.
