Thanked: 0Thanks for the detail about the scales! Looking online for this I see others, but none with the barbers notch, thought that might give some greater detail about what the razors age or specifics may be etc.
Either way, really appreciate the feedback! I'll probably take it through the progressions tomorrow and see what comes out of it. I've officially filled my 6 slot test tube holder, so I should be done looking around for razors at antique stores...until I see one that's really special or just decide to start gathering more...
Got this one for $15 and it's got nary a spot of rust or pitting, looks to have been very lightly used so I think I made out alright

Check this link. There is a little information here.
STRAZORS.com - all about classic razors - Oxford Razor, Germania Cutlery Works, Germany.
$15 is a good deal for a pre-war German razor in that shape. The notch may have been done after the fact as that was more often used earlier than that one was made and also more in the UK. That also could account for the condition as it may have been restored. That's not a bad thing though. Or it could have been a one off, Sheffield hat tip, retro type thing. Either way, it's cool. Never seen one of those like that
It's not exotic or really noteworthy but should be a good member of your rotation. Nice find!Last edited by PaulFLUS; 07-08-2022 at 07:54 AM.
