The roots are not what you need to be looking at. It's the difference in the tree limbs.
It does take a bit of practice photographing razors. I'd love to help but so far the tree is still too hard to make out the different limbs.
From what I'm seeing in the last pics and using my computer and phone, I'm going with the 1924 to 1935 tree.

Thanked: 4Umpteenth and final time. Hope this one comes out a lot better. I tried matching the exact logo, tree, root system and the writing around it and nothing seemed to match exact. Thanks for the help.

Thanked: 4Thanks everyone for the input and help. I have used and worked on straights for +/- 30 years. The Don Walters years. This one was a gift for a young man and I wanted to give him an approximate date of manufacture. You are a good and helpful group of people.

The writing dont count either, I dont think. As then the 8 or 9 I have wouldnt match anything either. Stick around. If you have been retoring this long you can always hand out and share details of how you do things.

How long would a stamp last?
I am sure there are very many relatively minor variations.

I've never been able to reliably date by those stamps either. I always seem to see ones that don't really match any of the pictures. I generally spit ball by style.

Problem is the stamps on the blades never seem to look like those pictures.
