    Unhappy Heaven help us!

There is a website called Touch of Modern. It generally features high-end goods from reputable manufacturers. Tis the season to reap ugly profits and they are attempting to do so. They are offering a whole slew of straight razors at ridiculously low prices. I checked a few of their Damascus steel ones (alarm bell right there.) Guess what? Ya, your right, made in Pakistan. Good enough to look at, a disaster to shave with.

It’s questionable whether P.T. Barnum ever said that, but nevertheless ‘There's a sucker born every minute’ springs to my mind.

I have two (Livi) Damascus steel razors in my stable and they may be pretty to look at, but disappoint when shaving.
No need for me to try any more Damascus steel razors - let alone from a source that has a reputation for shoddy quality.

Another find of straight razor use where it was not expected. I was watching re-runs of The Incredible Dr. Pol, Veterinarian where Dr. Brenda needed to do some surgery on a cow. Pre-surgery prep includes shaving off the hair to get to the bare skin. Out came a straight razor and excellent technique to get the desired results. The surgery was on a standing cow and she had her hand and arm inserted into its abdomen to straighten and put a stomach back in place.
