Dovo was one of the last survivors of any size from mid-late 50's to sixties.
They still produced some fine grinds at that time.
Looking at and holding Hess, DublDuck, Williams, PJM razors.. C-mons, Hoffritz, etc, One can see esp as looking at the scales, bolsters and script cast into the scales in the fancy models. Even the pins are a clue at times. I have seen lots of hardware and BS razors which are obvious.
Remember that razors were tools. Not always a surviving employee who can recall, any records are usually scarce.
Not much to go on on most razors not stamped with the (legitimate) original maker's stamps.
With few exceptions, most of any maker's product was stamped for someone somewhere else.
All in the obvious clues. JMO
Just (Obvious?) observations, comparisons, and discussions over the years can tell the tales.
Retailers/barber suppliers did not make anything. They had them made with their names, logos, etc upon them.Last edited by sharptonn; 05-18-2023 at 02:45 AM.
