Sheffiels Steel Damascus Razor?
I have recently obtained a 5/8 razor, Round tip Razor. The Tang is Marked Damascus Razor, Sheffield Steel. On one side, And nothing on the other. Except for that, it is very normal razor. Plain Bakelite scales, The blade is a mirror finish. Is this a gem or a dud? Has anyone heard of this razor? the blade seems to hold an edge for a long time.I wish I could take some pictures, but I don't have my camera with me. I will try to take so tomorrow.

Thanked: 9A number of razors use the word Damascus - I'd bet dollars to donuts that it's not a real Damascus.
But it doesn't mean it's not a gem
Cheers

it got put on hold when thebigspendur pointed out that it was virtually guaranteed that the packages would spend half a day in the un-airconditioned back of the delivery van.
I will start the offer again come november.
that should give everybody enough time to order some for christmas aka winter solstice.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

As stated, "Damascus" was used for naming razors....maybe because it is exotic, maybe for it being the home of Damascus steel. Hopefully, no one is selling them as "Damascus Steel" (which is obvious at first glance.) There is a thread regarding an SRP member visiting Maestro Livi in Italy, where he picked p his custom razor - its blade was Damascus steel.
