Default Straight Razor Used in Film 1929

    hi
    Hope someone can help

I'm trying to ID a razor used in a 1929 french silent movie entitled "Un Chien Andalou". At first I thought it might be relatively easy, but having scrolled through 100's of pictures on all sorts of web sites I can even find one that is even close. So hopefully someone can help. I have attached a picture with the clearest frame grabs I can find. The spine has notches and on the blade, there are 2 words encased in a sword motif with a heraldic shield with what looks like a crown ??. I have done a drawing and I'm sure the second word is 'BEST'. The first Word looks like it has 5 letters and ends in ___NO. ???. Everything looked so easy when I started with all the clues......

    Thanking you in advance

    Michael

In the ‘standard guide to razors’ listed under “Companies & Base Values” It mentions Best Steel: England
I don’t know if this is relevant

There are a few Birko razors on ebay that I'm seeing, none are Birko Best.
The one in Australia looks quite nice.

Have you set a saved search with notifications on ebay? I don't know if Etsy has a similar search option.

Salvador Dali…I believe they used a cow’s eye for the classic razor scene….
