I purchased my current HESS #100 razor after seeing your HESS #100 razor. EXTRA HOLLOW razors are rare. This razor is made with the same fine craftsmanship as Japanese razors, which is also rare among American razors.

Hess was a barber supplier. Their razors were made under special contract by Dovo. This was back when Dovo made exceptional products.
In fact, Dovo made razors with many, many different names upon them.
A Rather large round point 44..
9/8 Hess #1...
Dovo made for Williams, another Barber supplier. Obvious connection....

I rest my case.

#100 razors are probably made in the USA. As shown in the picture, there are gaskets commonly used in the United States, and the head shape is not common on German razors.

Yes. Fritz Bracht era.
Never have seen one like your 100. Could be a WWII version, American made for Hess.
It reminds of Carl Monkhouse/Burrell Top flight days. Somebody made it. Really thin!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
