    Default 756

Is the number 756 etched on an antique SR blade significant? Like a model number or size?

Yes but you have to know what it references. All stamps and etchings mean something but you may need to know more specifics. Some are well known like #14 is a blank style/size that a lot of makers used and was highly favored but many numbers are not. Sometimes it's very plain like one I have says 42 1/2. I remeber finding out it was style/blank # 42 1/2 inch wide or maybe it was 1/2 hollow. Other times it is more encryted or inside jagon. Henry Sears and Son Queen 7/8 is #740 while the Queen 3/4 is #640. The 40 part must be a style and the 6 and 7 parts apparently refers to size in 1/8ths.

I'm sure someone knows off the top of their head. Hopefully they will chime in.
