    Default Martin Paisley Razor

Ive had this for awhile and if anybody has any info on the maker or around when it was made, looks early 1800s to me. when I first got it I thought this razor is just to new looking and maybe it was a reproduction or something cause other than the scales its pretty mint. I think we can all assume its English.

I can't see the leeters on the spine. Is that Paisley or Pasley? I found a Richard Pasley in Sheffield but spelled without the i. He was born too late to have made that thing (1849-1937) but perhaps he was a nephew. His father was Joseph.

Maybe post a close up of the name. Sometimes the letter stamps can fool you. Happens to me quite often.

I assumed this razor came from Sheffield England but could be Scotland. I've been online looking through historical records this AM but nothing yet.

I think you are right about early 1800’s.
The patent tempered steel gives more hits when searching, but no luck on the makers name…

The razor looks very much like a Greaves I used to own. Possibly made by Greaves for Paisley??
