Thanked: 0Boker set
Just picked this Boker set up on Ebay. Wanted to see what everyone thought. I think I did pretty well for four razors that seem to have never been used and come with a cool case.

Interesting... it seems that you will be getting a few different styles and maybe sizes in the box.
i happen to like boker razors quite a bit. once they are honed well then tend to stay that way a good while.
enjoy!Last edited by syslight; 10-11-2007 at 01:22 AM.

Yeah, that looks like a bit of a mismatched set. The box (which has its lid completely detached in one picture) tells you what the razor's make should read: "J.B. Hunter and Co." In a response to a bidder's question, the seller claims that all of the razors read "J.B. Hunter" on one side, and then Boker on the other, attempting to suggest that this is a complete set; but none of the pictures show this. The razors with the curves in the shanks are the original ones by the looks of it, while the others seem to be Bokers. We're able to see that at least one is, anyway, due to the picture of its shank, but we're not given a close-up of the other. In one picture the two mystery razors look slightly differnet from one another too, so I guess you'll just have to wait until the package arrives and then report back on this.
A set like this would have four identical razors, but it's plain to see that not only are they styled differently, but the blades have totally different lengths.
They do seem to be in nice shape, though, and I'm sure they'll make great shavers once they're honed up.

No one said you weren't trying to be nice.
It's look like an English style, you're right. "Sheffield" doesn't necessarily mean it was made there, though. It's an area rich in iron deposits, but also home to many craftsmen. Just as Solingen ("Zol-ing-en"), Germany is.

Thanked: 0I'm interested to see what I get when it arrives here. I suppose if they are all mismatched (and I don't like what I see) I could always send them back based on the fact that the seller said they were a matched set.
I'll let everyone knows what happens
