Thanked: 11Strange looks in the workplace (new razor arrived)
Just lovin' the looks I've been getting after unwrapping the NOS wapii that was delivered to work today thanks to stamps222
Looks good but will definitely need some honing.

Thanks BW. I will be going for another job there in a little under 2 weeks. This time around, instead of a bush camp, we will have a lodge, so it'll definitely be more comfortable, especially with short work-days at this time of the year.

Thanked: 11Well I spent an age last night honing it ... I really should have got my 4k/8k norton out but it was in the bedroom and the wife was sleeping so I only had my new thuringen from toolshop. I Just about managed to get it to pass a HTT from the hone, stropped it this morning on both canvas and leather and went to work on my face.
First impression was that it seemed to glide through my stubble quite nicely, but after the shave my face felt a little more tender than with my Dovo or my other e-bay special so I guess I need to work on it some more.
I really like the French point on it, but I think that lighter scales would be better and I'm seriously coming to the conclusion that I like the larger blade size ... my Chinese e-bay special (a 6/8), while still not as sharp as the Dovo, "feels" better on my face. FiReSTaRT I love the look of your custom blade from Joe - I'm thinking I'd really like something like that. This last nine months or so I've been exclusively using a straight and it is such a relaxing way to start the day I don't see myself ever going back to a DE so one of these days I might treat myself.

Barney, you won't go wrong if you get a blade from Joe. The only problem is deciding how you want it, especially now that he also includes carbon steel
