Thread: What the......?

Does anyone know what the make of those sweet straights are on the homepage with the carved scales? Id really like to get a set of those... mmm..... sweet!

third picture - I believe this is the one you mean the art nouveau ladies. i'm pretty sure the scales are molded and there are several manufacturers - perhaps Lynn (or somebody else) can tell us exactly which these razors are made by. I've seen some by Torrey, may be Dorko(prepare to spend), don't remember who else

Razor scales like those are mostly celluloid and are moulded. They were made in days past by many many manufacturers. Actually the scales were made by scale companies apart from the razor makers. There are some vintage razors with hand carved scenes made from Ivory, bone,horn and other materials and those can get very expensive as razor collectors really go for those.

If it's mainly the shape you like, I am pretty sure it was Traveller who has almost all common handle patterns, and has molds for them, so he can make new scales out of epoxy.
