Default Beard Growth Problem - Not for the queasy

Hey, what blade do you think I should use for my beard growth problem.

Dog is OK - his name is Jackson he belongs to a friend of mine in New York. They live on 98 acres with lots of wildlife - obviously. The Vet said she had never seen so many porcupine quills in a dog before. It took three Vets an hour to de-quill him and clean him up. Note to self - Do Not Chase Porcupines.

    Jim,

Make another note. It is okay to CHASE porcupines. CATCHING them is a very different story.

Hey save those quills maybe we can make a porcupine shaving brush out of them and sell them as the newest thing for those wanting a brush with a scratchyness to it.

LOL, clearly the problem here was catching the porcupine for sure. What made the problem this severe was that Fido was a stubborn cuss and didn't quit after the first batch of quills. He got it on both sides of the face, his paw and body before he decided he had enough. I'm not sure Fido wouldn't try that again given what appears to be a pretty "dogged" personality, LOL.

Porcupine quills are very painful to remove because of their barbs and they won't just come out on their own - or at least not the direction they went in. Porcupine quills just keep working themselves deeper and deeper and deeper. Eventually, they can kill an animal as they work in far enough to damage vital organs.

Maybe he will learn, but it might take a few more lessons. i had a lab that i allowed to roam and take small game, he loved rabbit... 3 porcupine attacks before he learned, each one more severe... that last one he tried eating after catching, fortunately he had decided to snack on the porch my dad noticed just as he started choking on the thing. the vet had to remove quills from his throat.... the dog was cured of porcupine chasing though.
