Thanked: 07/8 more power?
hello people ...generally 7/8 razor have "more power" to cut the hard beard? (due to a wider blade ) the advantage is?

The blade width doesn't really determine the cutting power, a 4/8 can shave just as good as a 7/8. But i find a wedge is better for really heavy stubble compared to a full hollow.

The extra weight of a 7/8 is comforting. Seems to glide easier through whiskers. If it weighs more I'm all for it.

I find it works better for me because it has extra weight. The weight helps push through the hair I think. It needs to be used with extra light pressure though. I find the smaller, lighter razors skip over the hair as they don't have the momentum to get through my thick hair. That said I have a 7/8 hollow ground that is very light and it skips a bit too, so maybe it is something about the blade profile. Wedges feel different to me, more solid and less flexible.

I have found that 13/16 hollow ground blade works best for me. I also happen to really like 5/8 half hollow. So I guess the weight does make a difference in the shave. YMMV

The weight, whether from a larger blade or a less hollow grind or both, provides greater angular momentum which lets the razor power through dense growth a little easier and bounce around less easy.
