    Default I Need Some Advice!

Well there is a lot of knowledgeable gentleman here and most of you have shaved with every razor under the sun. My quest is to find a razor that is definitely harder than carbon steel, a razor that the edge will last a little longer and have more cutting power. So I'm finally purchasing a new razor! my first new razor but i need you guys for input. I'm not really picky when it comes to brands but i kinda like the Thiers Issard blade shape better. I am willing to sacrifice looks for performance but i want to stay way below $200.
    Thanks in advance guys!

You might try an old Boker or one of the old U.S. razors like Torrey or Thistle cut!

The Henckels Friodur are renowned for being a hard blade. It's stainless. The TI's are lead treated so they're harder, but they're still Sheffield carbon steel. Either is a good choice, but I know I've had a challenge honing the harder steels.
