Maestro-Group Buy

Probably helped by reading the wants and desires of my fellow straight path travellers, my tastes are becoming more sophisticated by the moment and this necessitates modifying my specifications for the perfect group custom razor. I can see now the broad blade is the blade to have, so nothing smaller than 8-1/2/8's. As far a tips go (buy around, shave pointedly), I've seen the day and want a European tip. French is passe'; Spanish seems too easy a choice, it's nearly a fall-back option; let's go Italian with Romanian being the second choice. Blade grinds--here there is no choice, we need wedge on one side and 3/8 hollow on the other. The dynamic imbalance of the Orient tempered by the craft of the continent. Scales, now this weighs heavily on my mind; it has to be just right. We have what the others have used: the ebonies, the cocobolos, the birches, the thises, the thats - they've all been used. The question that should be asked is, "but what would you like?" But what would you like... what would you like? Hmmm... and inspiration hits like a pallet of 8 grit bricks -- YEW!! It's wood, it's light colored and while the Olivewood might be assumed to be the proper fit with the Italian tip, we're doing the eclectic here. English yew with the Italian tipped blade.:cool:

And with the Bulgarian rose soap, will this be nirvana or what?:bow

Count me in too, 6/8 or 7/8 Takeda Damascus with a nice burl wood for the scales. Not too fussed on the grind and shape.

I would love to get in on this, having seen so much of the Mastero unbelievable work. I may not have the funds for such work.

I apologize I did not know that the still make the Yugo, atleast not in the U.S.
I cannot wait hear/read/see what the Maestro says.

I just wanted to say that to me highly patterned Damascus and the burls look too much. In my opinion, if we go Damascus pattern the scales should be kind of simple to contrast the blade. They can still be expensive, if we wish - say ivory (not that the *cheap* ebony would look bad, just saying)
