You obviously have a musical back ground!

Ivo, you are absolutely right: a Damascus blade with ram's horn scales. An ornate figure on the blade subdued by a subtle swirling butterscotch handle. Heaven with an edge...and a spine about 6/8 away from it.
:w
They will all be different, so we can always ask Lynn to pick out a plain one for you:D
Personally I like the idea of giving Livi a very generic definition of what we'd like, and seeing what the maestro comes up with...
If we ask for X number of 7/8 damascus spanish points with nice wood scales, and "SRP 08" inscribed on them, and see what Livi comes up with... we would most likely get a very nice surprise. regardless of what he does, I highly doubt any of us would be disapointed.
It might be cool to have them numbered, with several different types of wood, 4 razors with Olive, 4 with Ebony etc...?
that's news to me - I thought they would all be the same... even better then, variety's great :)
And it's not about being disappointed, it's about being truly WOW-ed! If I am not - it's not like I need more razors...
For example, B&B had a great price on a Zowada - but I didn't jump on it because from the description I didn't think I'd like the looks (and was right). It is a great maker and a great price, but if it's not wowing me I see no reason to get it. If it were a truly custom and I could specify what I wanted - I'd certainly get the Zowada at this price...
Cheers
Ivo
If they are wood handled, nature makes the wood with some variations:D
So some of the handles will have a stronger grain or pattern no matter what you use. If we ask for a wood that has a highly visible grain like cocobolo or bocote, these variations will be much more obvious.
Also the shape of the handle is not necessarily going to be the same, as the wood may have imperfections that have to be worked around. The blade is hand forged, so it will have some variation... especially if it's damascus
When I'm making a set of scales, I often let the handle material dictate it's own shape.
In for this pending specifics on the razor.
I vote for damascus with olivewood scales:D
Ivory may pose a problem with shipping?
Takeda damascus 6/8 with snakewood scales.
mmmmmmmmmmmm!
