    Default Silvano Damascus

After seeing the review of Lynn's new razor, I decided to do a bit of digging on Google while the site was down earlier.

I'm not aware of many people making their own damascus (other than SRP members such as Tim Zowada, Mike Blue etc.), so when I heard about Lynn's razor I was intrigued.

After a look on Google, I found the Silvano in question is Camillo Silvano (though curiously he's credited as Silvano Camillo on the Maestro Livi DVD I have here).

His site is http://www.camillosilvano.it , and the brief text on the page about his damascus reads...

The Damascus produced by Camillo Silvano, shaped entirely by hand, is the result of forty years experience in the manufacture of iron and steel.

Wow, I guess he's had lots of practice making it then!

The pictures look amazing, some really unique pieces of steel. I've linked a couple below but there are more on the site.

I feel some questions to Maestro Livi coming on.....
