Thanked: 0Help wading through the brands
Ive recently purchased a number of vintage razors and i havent found anything that rated brands and id like to know what would be worth keeping and what i should pass along. My razors are as follows
1-Baker
2-Wiss
3-H.M. Christensert
4-The Radiumite
5-Wostenholm
6-Wade and Butcher Special
7-Sultan Razor
8- This one just says Gun metal on on side and germany on the other
and the blade is only about 1/2" wide

2, 5, 6, 8 are all good shavers if they are in decent shape. The others I don't know about.....

if #3 is h.m. Christensen from either brockton Mass. they are very nice razors... often you will find that they say "T. Noonan & sons" on the back other times they just say warranted.

I'm wondering if no.#1 is actually Boker. Is there a tree on the tang?

Thanked: 01 is a baker. On one side it says "Baker" Pomona Calif Made in Germany and on the other side it says New Formula Manganese Silver Alloy. On one side of the scale there is a mother of pearl inlay with metal scalloping.
Sorry if its a little blurry. The camera is on charge so i had to use my iphone.Last edited by captnc12unch; 01-26-2008 at 01:43 PM.

I think you should pass one along to me so I can hone it up,send it back, and you can start shaving with some of those bad boys!
Nice catch!

hmm, quite rusty.
the answer of course is - if you plan to restore them all, try them out and see what you like best and keep that. if you only want to restore few, probably it's safer to start from the more famous brands that others mentioned.

Thanked: 0Who might the maker of this little fella be?
I couldnt get a good picture but on the other side of the tang there is an anchor with a star laid over it and an arrow going through and says germany.
