Default TI 5/8 Historical Surgeons Razor

I was wondering if anyone had tried one of these TI Surgeons razors ..
Reading the description of the grind it sounds not unlike the Japanese Iwasaki
ie. it's a quarter grind on one side and flat on the other ..
I'd be interested in purchasing one although in the description on Rasupur states "It would be quite difficult to shave oneself with it. "

Any info would be appreciated ...

NEW - 5/8 Historical Surgeons Razor

"This historical razor is a "must have" for collectors of historical razors.
In the old times barbers were also surgeons.
This razor can also be used for head shaving and shaving others. It would be quite difficult to shave oneself with it.
One side of the razor is flat, the other has a quarter grind. So it is sharpened from one side only.
Today this razor is used in science (microbiology).
This is a carbon steel razor and is newly ground from an old historical blank and comes without any etching.
The scales are made from stainless steel so the razor is quite heavy and can be sterilized."

I have a razor with exactly this type of blade, tho' it's not a TI. They are indeed made these days for microbiologists and are known as section razors. I haven't tried using it to shave with, or for cutting sections with for that matter.

    (Or for performing operations.)

If you'd like my section razor as a curio, or even to try, let me know.

No the Iwasaki's are sharpened on both sides and have edges on both sides. They are just asymmetrical. These other razors can only be used on one side because the only have an edge on one side as I understand it. They are not designed for shaving use.
