Thanked: 0chinese double arrow 6/8 round point revisited
I just picked up my pair of double arrows from the post office. (got them from wojtec/open_razor) And I have to say they exceed my expectations at first glance. the packaging was just a plastic sleeve, but the blades were oiled. The scales are warped white plastic. The blade doesn't have a real polish and there are light grinding marks. The razor seems slightly bent in the shank.
Just for fun, I did a few passes on my black arkansas (20ish). Then I checked the bevel with a sharpie. It wasn't bad; the only place that wasn't taking an edge was the last 1/4" near the point on one side. The edge there actually looks like it might need a bit more than a black arkansas. I did a few more passes on the arkansas and stropped it (30ish laps).
I did a quick dry pass on my cheek just to see how it did. It was pretty good. I expect that when I actually hone and strop it, it will give a decent shave. I'll update this when I actually hone it and shave with it.
The blade may be a little warped, but I'm not willing to pass judgement on it until I've put more than a half-assed effort into honing.
The other razor looks straighter, but I'm not going to worry about it until later. I'll post some pics if I get a chance.

Thanked: 0chinese
I bought one from Woj off ebay. Looked ok, slight smile, ran it a few times across a barbers hone, stropped it, shaves like a dream. I am going to buy 3 or 4 more. It may not be a flashy and expensive razor, but it does the job really well. I've been using it everyday.

Thanked: 0After honing it a bit and stropping it, the double arrow shaves pretty well. The blade is straight except for the small portion by the point which seems to refuse to make contact with my hones. Overall I'm very happy with these razors.

I bought 2 of them, and although they took a good edge, they wouldn't keep that edge... My bad luck, I'm glad to hear that they aren't all bad...

Thanked: 416The one I sent off to be honed was worthless. The thing about these razors is there seems to be no concistancy. You might get a good one or you might be throwing your money down a hole. At least it aient much money! But it is still money that could be put towards a good razor.

Thanked: 0after further consideration and honing, I don't think the blades are at all warped. They do have a slight smile. After I played around with my honing pattern, I was able to get the tip.

How many here have tried the Double Arrows which are marked (stamping/etching)? Just curious if they are more dependable than the unmarked ones.
