I was just given a joseph elliot razor blade with a box. The blade has a crest on it and the blade says-best silver steel the true apollo ring. There is a cross by elliotts name and it states made in sheffield , England. Anyone know approx date of manufactuing and worth. The box says dist by August Kevin? Barber supply, st louis , MO. Thanks for any help.

It is probably somewhere in the mid-1800's range. Worth? Depends on a lot of factors, mainly size, style, and condition (of lots of different aspects of the razor). Do you have a picture? Really, if it looks like most blades from that time period, it is probably worth whatever people would be willing to pay for it. I may be interested in buying if it is beat up and ready to be restored!
