    Default Best-Puma Silberstahl

G'day I have a Puma with silberstahl on the shank and I ws wondering is it a different kind of steel from the usual. I seems to be a dull grey.

Silberstahl= Silversteel, yes it is a little different it should easily polish up to a nice high gloss, and Puma's are hard to beat, congratulations on the buy!

the dull gray is most likely patina which is harder to polish up but acts a bit as a natural rust inhibitor if a razor is stored in a nice dry place for a long time this typer of oxidation tends to occur. beats red rust any day of the week!

Most Puma's are marked made from best pumaster steel. At some point Puma stopped making razor's and had Dovo making razors for them. There are subtle differences in the printing on the blade. It could be one of those depending on what else it says.
