    Default DOVO Bergischer Loewe

I've got the itch for a DOVO, and I like the looks of the Bergische Loewe. However, I'd prefer it in a 6/8, and all I can find it in is a 5/8. Anyone have experience with this razor and if DOVO makes or ever made it in a 6/8?

I haven't seen it in 6/8 anywhere....I broke down and bought one about a month ago and love it! She looks sexy as hell and shaves like there's no tomorrow! Jim over at vintageblades usually keeps them pre-honed by Lynn in stock. Highly recommended!

I've got one too - looks purty and shaves alright, but not as well as some others I have (sheffields in particular), but each to their own. If you get one watch out for the shank condom - it can accumulate crud underneath.

As far as I know they only come in 5/8.

I got mine in December from Em's Place. The razor is well made and very good looking. The shave is very close and comfortable as this an extra hollow cut. It's only offered in 5/8's.

I would like mine more but the black piece on the shank is a cheap piece of plastic that breaks off easily.

Loved the look of those ever since I started using straights. Maybe one day I'll shell out the money for it....

Hmm. I guess I didn't realize that was plastic. It's a beautiful razor, but that plastic bit makes me think twice...with my luck, I'd get water under it, and rust would start.

Thanks for all of the input...I may go with a red Bismarck...it appeals to the pimp in me.

Frankly that is one of the problems with any razor that has these rubber things on the tang. To add insult to injury the BL has some writing under there, so you are almost guaranteed as least some discoloring.
While I enjoy mine, I may sell it off someday as I have too many 5/8 blades.
