I have been thinking of buying a new razor also so I hope you do not mind the piggyback. I have a Dovo 5/8 darkstar and another 7/8 German razor. I have a heavy beard and would like to try a 6/8 blade. I certainly like my 7/8 a lot but would like something smaller. I am assuming I would not be happy with most TI's because most are fully ground. I would appreciate some feedback as well because I am tired of buying razors

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Richard,
TI does make a half hollow ground blade I have the 6/8 model and it works wonders. If the razor is well honed and sharp blade you can get a BBS shave no matter what. Honestly I have a TI 4/8 le Dandy hollow ground which can shave my heavy beard like no other 4/8 blade.

Yes a lot of folks and I admit that quality of the scales and pins on the TI are not as good as the DOVO, but IMO the blade of the TI is better than the Dovo and that is more than enough to put as a winner in my book.

I have TI's Dovo's and others in my collection. My experience is that the hollow gound and extra hollow ground razors give me the best shave. My beard is dark and thick. I feel the heft of the TI gives it an edge over all others. Additionaaly, the steel has a very smooth feel to it.

Most of my razors are 5/8's. Ijust picked up a TI' 7/8's that glides through my beard. However, for everyday use the 5/8's is the most versatile.
