Default A true disposable straight razor.

Yes, really! You chuck the whole razor in the garbage when your done, not just the blade.

I got some of these a few years ago, I didn't even know what they were originally intended for but a member on SMF clarified it for me. These are indeed meant for shaving but specifically for women to use around their eyebrows etc. I never did work up the courage to try it for shaving. It is pretty darn light and flimsy but I suppose now that I've shaved for quite some time with straights, I could give it a try... problem is I can't find the darn things!

Anyway, I thought I'd post this, just in case someone was interested.

That thing looks a little scary. Good luck with it.

Neat. Does it have the company and model number on it? I.E. could they still be found?

Those are Japanese disposables! My mother used to use one regularly on her face!
Japanese women of my mothers age seem to be obsessed with a hairless face!!

Unfortunately, the only info I have is whats written on the package it came in which is showing the the picture. These were sold by Lee Valley as hobby razors. I assume they came across a few cases and decided they might be something their customers might want. They don't carry them anymore but I do believe they are still available in Japan for their intended purpose.

Actually, I believe that the "member on SMF" was I. Funny to think that both of us have graduated to straights and ended up on this forum

And yes, they are indeed available in drugstores all over Japan. My girlfriend uses one to shape her eyebrows and remove any peach fuzz. Apparently, doing so makes it much easier to apply makeup.
