Thanked: 0How old and what model?
Hello!
I am wondering how old the razor on this pic is and what model number it has.
Can someone tell me how much the razor on the picture might be worth? Just saw it for sale for about 15 dollars, is it an ok price?
Cheers
Zoddic

Looks like a Tech to me, 1939 or 1940, the only two years with open combs. Looks like a lot of the teeth on the comb are broken, or is that just the picture? OTOH, with case, blade boxes, original instructions, $15 seems like a steal. Check the instructions for a copyright year.

Yeah, everything looks to be in fine condition. You've got the razor, the box, the two blade holders and a little booklet. $15 would be a great deal (I think, I really don't know much about the worth of safety razors).

You could probably get $10 just for those instructions. I'm pretty sure that's an 'old type'. I have the same razor, which the serial # dates to 1905. I think that's a later case though. There should be a serial number stamped on the inner barrel of the razor. Then google "Gillette safety razor dates." If it has all of the teeth and doesn't have a crack on the handle (very common) it's worth about $30, maybe more. There are other factors that will influence its value (plate loss, brassing, condition of the case). Check out the Badger and Blade website for more info on safety razors.
