    Anyway to tell how old the blade is? It would be cool to say that the blade is over 100 years old, but something tells me the two dates on the box just deal with the company.

    The logo is in fact the bear and ragged staff, a fairly common European one with roots in the 13th. Century and is on the coat of arms of Warwickshire Council - more info on this logo can be found here - http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/web/c...256A38003531A9

    There's even a pub by the same name about five miles from where I live!

    Yes, a mine if useless information! T Hessen-Bruch are good razors, I've seen a few and all were good.

    as for age, it seems the word "warranted" was rather popular on 1920s era razors from lots of different makers. 3 of mine say "perfection warranted" and one says "fully warranted"(the 9/16th). my guess for your blade and three of mine "Perfection" was the model.
    One of mine with black scales just like yours, was neatly inscribed with "O.J. '24"

    Those are great razors!

    They very often have "Will Inspection" on them (stamped around the bear)

    And for $5?! Hell, great find!

    Just another snippet, the 'Will Inspection' bit is a play on words, being above and below the bear, so it means 'Will (bear) inspection'. Cool eh? Also I have turned up that this company as T. Hessenbruch was around from about 1873 - 1906 when it became H. Hessenbruch.

    I just received my first razor today from whippeddog.com and it is a T. HESSEN-BRUCH & Co "WARRANTED" model with what appear to be a set of bone scales. Anyways, I would like to learn more about my razor and was hoping you could tell me where to find out more about the company. Am I correct to assume from the previous post that it was made between 1873-1906?
