First, Hello Group!

Being a newbie, I may be jumping in way over my head with both feet with this (probably) crazy idea , but hey - that's why I took up shaving with a straight razor in the first place!

How about slitting a small straw (something like a coffee stirrer) and sliding it over the spine. It might improve the angle enough to try honing.

BTW, you guys rock! Studying the information in this forum has helped me really enjoy taking up the blade.
