I found a nice W&B with a huge chunk taken out of the blade on one of my trips here recently.....then I found a Boker in similar condition....then I found a Case Red Imp....then I found a Henckels....then I quit looking...all blades were chipped to beat hell.

Had I stopped looking...I wouldn't have gone to the last antique store I went to that day and found two beautiful Wostenholm's...one NOS.

Thanked: 0What would someone do with a razor that looks like a cartoon lightning bolt? I've stood in junk stores trying to imagine who would buy that, and what they would do with it and what they thought they were doing. And then the whole thing about charging $60 for a razor just because it's in a hoity-toity "antique" store. Maybe it's just their business to put exorbitant price tags on things and hope some poor rich fool bites. I saw a few beautiful razors in good condition today at some stores in Austin, but the prices were crazy.
However, on the other hand, the razor I use has 1/2 inch chipped off of the point and it works fine for me. So. . .
(I only paid $5 for that one

REf antique shops - there's a local fair held these parts that has two sections - one is a 'flea fair' and then there is a section that has the 'antique' dealers (even though it's all touted as a 'flea fair'). I know it's hard comparing exactly like for like but prices at the 'antiques' part are generally some 30 - 50% higher. Call it an antique and it just gets dearer
