    Question Genco steel question

In the short amount of time I have been shaving with a straight, I have had the pleasure of acquiring a few Genco's. I have a fluid steel and a Gold Seal. both shave very well, but I started wondering about em.

I know how long Genco operated and so forth, but I was wondering if the different "brands" of Genco had different metallurgical properties. Obviously one has a gold wash, and one is blued, but are the differences more than skin deep.

My guess (and its only that) is they are all the same just with differences in scales and ornamentation and sizes and grinds and all that. Its like the Double ducks, with the exception of the wonderedge and the stainless duck the rest are the same carbon steel.
