Thanked: 735I love getting a new package!
Just got my second Henckels in the mail yesterday.
Isn't it a great feeling when you get that new package in your hands?
Black handle is the newly arrived 7/8 Spanish point with worked back fron Vintage blades, the red handled one is a 7/8 roundpoint from Shaving Shop.
I need to hone up the new 7/8 SP and see what she's got!

How would you rate the scales? Bought an 8/8 square tip with the same curves on the spine. My scales are poor at best, it looks like they were not meant for a blade of that length or size, there's a lot of scraping on the end opposed to the pivot. Also I have to be careful when closing the razor unless I want to strop off plastic the next time I shave.
The blade it self shaves great though, nothing there, its just the scales which I'm going to try and have replaced within the next two months.

Seraphim,
You suck!
I am waiting (not so patiently) for my 7/8 Spanish point from Jim! There is a bit of a delay since Lynn is honing her for me, but I can't wait!
The bad part is I am going out of town next week, so I doubt I'll be home when she arrives.
Looking forward to the Friodur addition to the CODT!

Thanked: 735Well, since I'm honing it myself, mine isn't ready to shave yet either, if that is any consolation.
Although I did give it a few passes on 9um, 6um, and 3um lapping film, so it is getting closer to shave ready...
The Spanish point is going to get either walnut or cherry scales...decisions, decisions....
And I must say Jim was excellent to deal with at Vintage. As was John at Shaving Shop.Last edited by Seraphim; 03-22-2008 at 12:56 AM.

I flip-flopped about the honing but in the end, I figured with a "new" razor (and since I have never tried a SS blade) it would be smarter to have Lynn give this one a touch.
I hone all of my others so I am hoping this will set the bench-mark for them. I figure I can guage my honing progress!
As for scales, I am heading up to my folks place this week. My intnet is to work with my step-dad on some designs. I have no idea yet how this one will end up, but it may be Koa or something spalted....
